Czech republic: inbount tourists prefer luxury hotels

Tourists visiting the Czech Republic prefer to stay in luxurious hotels. Statistics show that the occupancy rates in hotels with more stars have increased.

Tourists coming to the Czech Republic choose luxurious accommodation more than before. It is obvious from the figures gathered by the Czech Statistical Office last year. Increasing number of tourists has chosen to stay in hotels with more stars.

As Tyden.cz reported, occupancy rate of hotel and pension rooms was 49.3 in the third quarter of 2010, which means a three per cent increase compared to the previous year. Five-star hotels with occupancy rate reaching 64.1 per cent were the most popular among tourists. The demand for rooms in these hotels has risen by almost twelve per cent. The occupancy rates in four star hotels reached approximately sixty per cent.

On the other hand, pensions recorded only a 0.2 per cent increase in demand. The results are dependent on the kind of tourists who chose to stay at these types of housings. Number of foreign visitors who demand higher quality services has grown, which has consequently caused the increase in number of visitors staying in hotels with more stars.
